User Roles and Permission

In the current implementation of the CMS for the Smart Recycling System, access to the CMS is controlled and managed by the Information Technology Services (ITS) department.

If there are any changes required to the account access—such as adding a new user, removing an existing user, or modifying user details—please contact ITS directly to request the necessary changes. ITS will handle all modifications to ensure the security and integrity of the system.

User Roles At this stage, user roles are not yet implemented within the CMS. This means that all users with access to the CMS have the same level of permissions and can perform all available administrative functions. This includes managing events, promotions, member information, recyclables, and bin information.

Future Enhancements We recognize the importance of having distinct user roles and permissions to provide a more structured and secure approach to managing the CMS. In upcoming phases, we plan to discuss and define user roles in collaboration with the Estates Office. This will involve identifying different levels of access and permissions based on the specific needs and responsibilities of various users.

Some potential user roles could include:

  • Administrator: Full access to all CMS features and settings.

  • Event Manager: Limited to managing events and promotions.

  • Member Manager: Restricted to viewing and editing member information.

  • Recycling Manager: Focused on managing recyclables and bin information.
