# Calendar

The Portal features an integrated timetable and calendar view for upcoming events.

The interface displays a month view on the left and a 24-hour daily schedule on the right. By selecting any date in the month view, users can instantly see detailed events scheduled for that day in the daily view.

Event data is sourced from Exchange Online and the HKU Event Calendar.

1. **Current Date**: It shows the current date. When user clicks on it, the event details below will jump back to current date info.
2. **Calendar**: The light brown dot under the date indicates there is event(s) happen on that day
3. **Event Details**: It will showcase all the events for selected day as well as the events taking place in the next 7 days
4. **Color Code:** The calendar uses different colors to represent various event types, such as Outlook Calendar, RPG Progress Report, RPG Leave, Lecture Timetable, Tutorial Timetable, Exam Timetable, University Holiday, and Registered HKUEMS Events.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://userguide.hku.hk/studentportal/widget-and-features/calendar.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
