# Cancel engagements and payments

### Cancel Engagement

You may cancel an engagement before payment has been made when necessary.  Cancelling an engagement will end the lifecycle of the engagement.

To cancel an engagement, please open the relevant engagement and press the "Cancel Engagement" button at the top menu:

After an engagement was cancelled, the Status of the engagement will become INACTIVE and it will be showed/retrieved under the views of inactive engagement, such as "Inactive Engagements", rather then the views of active engagements.

### Cancel Payment

You may cancel a payment transaction before the payment is posted to the University finance system.

To cancel a payment transaction, please open the relevant payment transaction and press the "Cancel Payment" button at the top menu:
